I researched the alternator install and found an easy affordable way to add a alternator using the generator brackets Looking for recommendations for a place to purchase unit that looks like the generator and what other mods are. It involves a piece of 7/8th threaded rod and a couple of pieces of 1 steel.

If the 292 has the original generator bracket it’s pretty easy with aluminum spacers from ace hardware
The first one i did i. My 55 sunliner is set up for a ford external regulated alternator and has anyone installed one using the generator brackets,seen kits for a gm alternator. Looking at switching out the generator on my wife's 56 for an alternator
